We keep running into stories that demonstrate how the world treats women unfairly. But, every now and then, when we come across something worthwhile, it’s only natural to want to share it. Kamla Devi, a Fatehpur Shekhawati resident, is now being hailed as a role model for supporting her daughter-in-law to study and find work.
Sikar’s mother-in-law has given her daughter-in-law a fresh lease of life. Kamla Devi’s son was a government teacher by profession and died five years ago. The couple was married for just 6 months when the son passed away. Under such circumstances, mother-in-law Kamala taught her daughter-in-law further. Later, when the daughter-in-law became a Grade One lecturer, the mother-in-law got her married with pomp.

Shubham, Kamla Devi’s younger son, married Sunita on May 25, 2016, in Dhandhan, Ramgarh Shekhawati. Shubham moved to Kyrgyzstan to study MBBS after his marriage. In November 2016, he died after a major brain stroke there. Following that, the mother-in-law lavished affection on her daughter-in-law as if she were her own daughter. The mother-in-law after 5 years, got Sunita married with pomp as if her own daughter.
The marriage didn’t include any dowry
Shubham and Sunita had met at a function. Shubham told about this at home, and later, approached Sunita’s family about marrying her. Sunita’s family’s financial situation was precarious at the time of their marriage. He did not want Sunita to pay any dowry when he made her his spouse.

Kamla Devi considers Sunita as the Laxmi of three homes
Teacher Kamla Devi said that Sunita first took birth at her parents’ place and filled their home with happiness. After marriage, she lived like a son in her home. She got married to Mukesh on Saturday. She’ll now bring joy to Mukesh’s home as well.
Following her studies, she was promoted to lecturer
Rajat Bangadwa, Kamala Devi’s elder son, revealed that following the death of his younger brother Shubham, his mother preferred Sunita to him. Sunita, in turn, followed her mother’s orders without question. Even after Shubham’s death, Sunita’s mother encouraged her to study for competitive exams by completing her MA and B. Ed. Sunita was chosen for the position of Lecturer in History last year. She is currently employed as a teacher at Nainasar Sumeria in the Churu district’s Sardar Shahar area. Sunita not only looked after our house, but she also looked after her parents. Sunita also imparted knowledge to her younger brother.

Mother-in-law showered love like a daughter
Sunita claimed that after her husband died, her mother-in-law treated her like a daughter and lavished her with love. Her mother-in-law has arranged for her to marry Mukesh and begin a new life together. The mother-in-law has sacrificed her daughter as if she were her own child, and she seemed content now.
Mukesh’s wife died as well
Sunita’s husband Mukesh is currently employed as a CAG auditor in Bhopal, according to Rajat. Mukesh’s family consists of his parents and brother, who reside in Sikar’s Chandpura village. Suman Bagadiya, a Piprali village resident who died in a road accident, was Mukesh’s first wife. Suman worked as an ASI in the Rajasthan Police Department.
But that’s not all. Kamala Devi adamantly opposes dowry. She didn’t ask for a dowry when she married her son to Sunita. She didn’t offer dowry when she married Sunita to Mukesh. Kamla Devi demonstrated how empathy and kindness can go a long way. We hope to see more stories like this in the future that challenge prejudices.
