6. La Tomatina, Spain–

Who can forget the la Tomatina festival of Spain from the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara? Well, this festival brings the childhood dream of making a mess into a true reality. This festival is celebrated in the town of Bunol in Spain, where people throw ripe tomatoes over each other. Dating back to the year 1945, this festival is like a big food fight.  It’s celebrated during the last Wednesday of August everywhere. You will find people covered in orange-reddish mush from tomatoes, and the streets have a similar colour that day thanks to the ripe Tomato mess. 7. Rio Carnival, Brazil-

Do you know about the biggest Fiesta in the world? It’s undoubtedly the Rio Carnival that witnesses 2 million people each day coming together on the streets for celebration. People dance to samba music, illuminated dazzling colourful outfits with countless options of cocktails. The whole atmosphere turns energetic, with people dancing on the streets to the beats of steel brass drums with quirky bejewelled outfits.  This festival dates back to 1723. It is a carnival in the streets of Rio de Janeiro, with special parades lasting up to 5 days. It’s celebrated in February and March. 

8. Harbin International Ice Festival, China-

How about making use of Ice for a colourful festival? The Harbin ice festival is annually celebrated in North-East China’s Heilongjiang province. The festival involves innumerable theme parks with unique events and amazing Ice sculptures. The beautiful towers, delicate ice sculptures, and creative ice sculptures, and Chinese-style castles are brightened with colourful neon lights from tip to toe.
