Maharashtra Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray on Monday urged Union Home Minister, Amit Shah to take an action against all those who are giving communal angle to the Palgarh lynching.

On April 16, three men were lynched by an armed mob in Maharashtra’s Palghar district. People have given this a communal angle and claimed it to be a communally- motivated crime by the Muslim community.

CM, in his social media address also said the killings were the outcome of rumours prevailing about thieves roaming in the area.

“I have urged him to initiate action against those who are giving a communal angle to the Palghar mob lynching,” Thackeray said.

He further added that there is no Hindu-Muslim angle in this incident. Two policemen were suspended immediately. The CID Crime will inquire into this incident led by DGP Atul Kulkarni.

State Home Minister, Anil Deshmukh already instructed against giving a communal angle to the incident. Thackeray has warned that his government will not spare anyone involved in the attack. He said that over 100 people have already been detained and five arrested. Nine minors have been sent to remand homes and the police is searching for the others that are involved.
