Residents of Lucknow will soon be able to see a real-life rendition of scenes from 1970s Hollywood films, in which characters were seen watching movies on a massive screen from the comfort of their vehicles.
The launch of the first-ever drive-in theatre, in the capital of Uttar Pradesh, is anticipated to operate from November 2nd, which comes as a Diwali present for Lucknow folks.
All the facilities have been all set to work on.
The district administration and the municipal corporation have approved permits to work on the project. The facility and coupons will be functional for sale both online and offline. The opening of the space in the Sarojini Nagar area can accommodate up to 200 cars to enjoy the theatre.
Nitish Kanda, a 22-year-old commercial pilot, and entrepreneur from Lucknow, who founded the company, claims, “The digital LED screen promises to give better picture quality over a projector. It also gives a 180-degree equal view from all angles.
The sound system will also be tuned to the frequency of the car’s FM and audio will be played inside the vehicle, limiting all noise pollution. This will be a new experience not just for the city but for the entire state as this is the first drive-in theatre of Uttar Pradesh. We have installed a digital LED screen with 40ft by 20ft dimensions, which also works well in sunlight. For the time being, we will have evening and night shows.”
“The idea is expected to receive much attraction during the Covid period since the drive-in theatre will help in maintaining physical distance with cars in place of other forms of seating arrangements,” added Kanda.
The undertaking operational launch will be new and amazing. However, defence and safety measures must be considered. The idea of the drive-in theatre is modern to India. Yet it’ll be promising to keep all the norms and significance of Covid precautions. The audience will feel comfortable and safe while they enjoy the screening with their loved ones. People can enjoy meals and other amenities while watching movies from the comfort of their vehicles.
