Adil Ansari, a 28-year-old young doctor, has been instrumental in saving countless lives and livelihoods in the midst of a devastating lockdown, when most people were locked in their homes, unaware of the severity of the catastrophe, consuming millions and millions of lives.
He abandoned his all secure, safe and serene lifestyle in Delhi to help contribute to solving the underestimated crisis of his hometown Aligarh where oxygen shortage was the prime cause of the city’s havoc.
“Aligarh was having an acute shortage of healthcare workers. In comparison to Delhi, the demand-supply ratio of doctors was extremely disrupted, prompting me to move to Aligarh right away after realizing my dire need and duties to my hometown,” said Dr Adil.
The defeat of the second wave did not deter Adil from continuing his selfless service to humanity and assisting the community in surviving the crisis. He has been treating the underprivileged for free in Taj Hospital, Aligarh, working tirelessly day and night, despite the dreadful prevailing virus. He showed the utmost dedication one can have towards humanity by setting a perfect example of a true ‘patriot’ and a ‘soldier’.
Furthermore, he with his team set up multiple Medical Camps in Aligarh, mostly targeting the city’s poorer neighbourhoods, supplying them with needed medicines, conducting eye tests, and primarily spreading Awareness that is itself the most required medicine for the society at the time. His Camps were mainly set up in Jamalpur, Nishat Bagh and Sootmil in Aligarh.
For a doctor, conquering the challenge of truly stepping into the ground and addressing reality with a clear resolve to offer as much as he can to society is an amazing deed that will undoubtedly serve as a beacon of inspiration for all.
When asked about the inspiration, Adil accredited his works until now, to his father, Dr Najmuddin Ansari. Adil has looked up to him ever since and developed a similar urge to go beyond the limits for the sake of welfare. Dr Najmuddin had also established a number of camps throughout his life, both inside and outside of Aligarh.
Food and blanket distribution on a regular basis was a part of his lifestyle, which Adil imbibed too. He was also at the forefront of aiding and supporting refugees displaced by the 2017 Gujarat floods.
Dr Adil’s work seems viable enough to the eyes now when one has such an inspiring figure as his father.
Moving on with his life, Dr Adil’s ambitions are as high as the skies. His firm resolute lies in utilizing his expertise, skills, and knowledge for the uplifting of the deprived communities, especially the minorities.
“Starting with my hometown of Aligarh, I want to help the disadvantaged, those who are denied the basic requirements that the government promises but fails to deliver. When you have the ability, it is preferable to make a move and help the less fortunate than to stay in your home and hope for the best,”
“It is my sincere appeal to all healthcare workers, doctors, and volunteers who are willing to make a difference, especially now in these trying times, to join us and carry out our responsibilities as responsible citizens.” Dr Adil made his appeal through The Second Angle.
